SwRI Resources: Engine Design Section specializes in designing and analyzing engines, mechanical design, mechanical analysis, and thermodynamic analyses of engine performance
Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) employs more than
3,300 personnel, many of whom contribute to engine and vehicle technologies.
As shown in the map below, a major part of resources at SwRI are related to engine design. These areas include
materials, fuels and lubricants, emissions certification, nondestructive evaluation, controls systems, and general mechanical and mechanism design and analysis. Technical diversity is a major strength of SwRI. The Engine Design Section is a part of the
Engine, Emissions and Vehicle Research Division, one of the largest technical divisions at SwRI.
