Newport Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (NECDF)
SwRI will perform laboratory
operations for the closure of the U.S. Army chemical Newport Chemical Agent
Disposal Facility (NECDF) in Newport, IN.
The Institute will provide 100
full-time staff members to analyze the byproducts that resulted from the agent
destruction process and continuously monitor the air inside the plant, for the presence of
the chemical agent VX.
