PIN diode assemblies are used at the PARCS radar site in high-power phase-shifters. Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) engineers analyzed the original diode assemblies and obsolete PIN diodes and designed a new assembly with a new commercially available PIN diode.
Statistical analysis was conducted to prove that the new diode met the original specifications, and Monte-Carlo circuit analysis was conducted to ensure that the new hybrid assembly would meet the system specifications.
For more information about RF PIN diode capabilities at SwRI or how you can contract with SwRI, please contact Tom Untermeyer at tuntermeyer@swri.org or (210) 522-5040. We can offer you the best approach for solving your RF diode or other radar systems problem.
