Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) combines the passion of motorcycling with the latest technology to provide outstanding and comprehensive motorcycle development. A team of engineers and technicians, who are also motorcycle and recreational vehicle enthusiasts, offers a full range of motorcycle technology services at SwRI. The SwRI Motorcycle Development Team is composed of engineers, scientists, and technicians, with different technical degrees and a broad range of experience. Because this group of motorcycle enthusiasts understands the unique motorcycle and recreational industry requirements, they provide a comprehensive service to clients.

The Motorcycle Development Team includes experts in the following technical areas:

• Engine development and testing

• Engine design

• Engine control systems

• Emissions research

• Vehicle testing

• Transmission testing and design

• Electromagnetic compatibility research and testing

• Materials testing and development

• Fire technology

• Oil and fuel analysis

• Noise and vibration testing

• Electromechanical development and testing

By bringing this knowledge and experience together into a single team, SwRI offers clients numerous services in one place that may have previously sent them to 10 different companies. In this way, the Motorcycle Development Team offers the motorcycle and recreational industry “one-stop shopping” for all their technology and development needs.

As an independent, multidisciplinary research, development, and testing organization, SwRI provides a nonbiased, third-party perspective.
