A full range of electromagnetic compatibility services are offered at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI). Extensive facilities and equipment combined with an experienced staff provide unique capabilities to assist clients during development. SwRI performs motorcycle tests for compliance with all U.S. and international vehicular standards. These services can be performed at any stage in development—from initial concept to final production. After analyses and investigation, SwRI can offer modification suggestions and services to the client.

	SwRI performs EMC testing on electrical and electronic systems for a wide range of applications, including automotive, avionics, space systems, telecommuni-cations, and medical electronic devices and instrumentation.

Electromechanical Development and Testing

The Electromechanical Systems Section in the Department of Space Systems Division provides expertise in electromechanical prototyping, instrumentation design and implementation, and expertise in data systems design, fabrication, and test.

Technical strengths of SwRI electromagnetic compatibility services include:

	SwRI designed the stirred-mode chamber facility to accommodate testing of the whole vehicle as well as smaller components and subsystems.
