Advanced Combustion and Emissions Section

The Advanced Combustion and Emissions Section specializes in gasoline, methanol, ethanol, and other liquid-fueled spark ignition (SI) engine development and testing.

The staff has vast experience with automotive, marine, motorcycle, small off-road, industrial, and aircraft engines. Development efforts directed toward meeting exhaust emissions, better fuel economy, and higher power output have provided SwRI engineers with a broad understanding of SI engine technologies from around the world.
