The CNWRAThe Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses (CNWRA), established by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 1987 as a federally funded research and development center, is charged with resolving technical issues related to the national geologic repository for high-level nuclear waste. Expanding on this initial mission, the internationally recognized CNWRA has developed extensive expertise for solving complex earth sciences and engineering problems. This expertise is now available to assist clients, both industry and government, in a wide range of technical and regulatory areas. Housed in a modern 87,000-square foot facility at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, the Center offers sophisticated computational and visualization resources and extensive laboratories to address issues involving hydrogeology and geochemistry, including contaminant transport analyses.
