Listing and Labeling  Services

Southwest Research Institute® (SwRI®) is a world-renowned center of excellence for fire research, testing and product certification. Testing and research capabilities are complemented by SwRI's Third-Party Follow-up Inspection and Quality Assurance Program, which fulfills the inspection requirements for obtaining a broad range of product approvals and certifications.

Products enrolled in the program are listed in SwRI's Directory of Listed Products (www.listedproducts.swri.org) and may bear the SwRI label.

  • Fire-resistant floor, wall and ceiling assemblies
  • Fire-rated roof systems
  • Firestop and fireproofing systems
  • Combustible and noncombustible insulation
  • Insulated wall, ceiling and roof panels

  • Fire extinguishers and suppression agents
  • Aboveground storage tanks
  • Bullet-resistant and blast-resistant assemblies
  • Marine products for IMO FTP Code or HSC Code approval

Accreditations and Approvals

The Fire Technology Department is ISO/IEC 9001:2008 Registered by NSF International Strategic Registration, Ltd. The Department is ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by International Accreditation Service (IAS) and accredited by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

SwRI's program is recognized by the following organizations:
